Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
1. Overview
FlightBoard (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the FlightBoard platform accessible at flightboard.app (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about you when you use our Service.
By using FlightBoard you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.
Geographic scope. FlightBoard is intended solely for users located in the United States, and the Service and its data are hosted in the United States. The Service is not directed to individuals in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions outside the United States, and this policy is written to reflect United States practice. If you are located outside the United States, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash — we never see your plaintext password).
Club and aircraft data: Information you enter into the Service, including club name, airport identifier, aircraft tail numbers, reservation records, flight logs, squawks, and inspection records.
Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and approximate time of access. We use privacy-respecting product analytics (PostHog) and error monitoring (Sentry) to keep the Service reliable and improve it. These are not advertising trackers, we do not run session recording, and we honor Do Not Track. We do not sell this data or use it for cross-site advertising.
Content you upload: Photos and files you add to the Service — including images on community (Hangar Talk) posts, aircraft documents, and profile or club images. See Section 9.
Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card number or payment details on our servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Service (scheduling, reservations, flight logging, squawk tracking).
- To send transactional emails — account confirmation, password reset, member invites, and booking reminders.
- To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe.
- To enforce plan limits and usage policies.
- To respond to support requests.
- To improve the reliability and features of the Service.
We do not sell your personal information or flight data to third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in the United States, in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security (RLS) policies that ensure each flying club can only access its own data. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
We rely on the following sub-processors: Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage), Vercel (application hosting), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), PostHog (product analytics), and Sentry (error monitoring). Uploaded files are stored in private storage and served only through short-lived, access-controlled links.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or your club is deleted, your data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where required to be retained by law (e.g., billing records).
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@flightboard.app. Club owners can delete their club and associated data from the admin panel.
7. Cookies and Analytics
FlightBoard uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for authentication and, where enabled, first-party product analytics (PostHog) to understand how the Service is used and improve it. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data for cross-site advertising, and we honor Do Not Track. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.
9. Content You Upload
Photos and files you upload are visible to the members of your club with whom you share them (for example, images on a Hangar Talk post are visible to your club). Only upload content you have the right to share, and do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, private to others without consent, or otherwise prohibited by our Terms of Service. We may remove content that violates our Terms or the law, and we cooperate with lawful requests. See the Terms of Service for the full content policy and takedown process.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
